Spring Country Decorating
Spring has arrived and the yard sale signs are starting to spring up on just about every street corner. What better time to gather items to create a country kitchen. Some of the things to look for are vintage tea towels and table clothes, old canning jars, bowls, coffee pots, miss matched china, cooking utensils, trivets, cookie jars or whatever strikes your fancy.
An easy and inexpensive way to bring the taste of the country and a splash of color to your walls and cabinets is with wall stickers. How about applying a picket fence, lattice or lace chair rail, an apple border above the stove and sink or cherries on the cabinets?

You can make an interesting valance out of vintage hand towels and hankies by draping them over a spring rod in the window. To add some interest to a corner, hang a grouping of trivets or cooking utensils: rolling pin, potato masher, sieves, egg beaters. Use an old coffee pot or cookie jar as a vase for spring flowers or as a container to grow herbs.
Spring has sprung and these country decorating ideas should help get your spring decorating off to a good start.
