1. Decide on the Color
   Depending on the color of your wall and the look you want to achieve, you may or may not have to paint the base wall to start. You can certainly apply your stripes to a white wall, or, consider a monochromatic look with tints or shades of one color such as a dark blue wall with light blue stripes. If your wall is already a color, you could also consider using white stripes.
2. Determine the Width
   Determine the width of the stripes you would like, keeping the proportion of the room in mind. Narrow stripes in a large room will get lost and wide stripes in a small room look out of proportion for the size of the space. 3. Keep them Straight
   Decorating with stripes requires precision. You definitely want them to end up straight when you are finished. Use a laser level to ensure straight lines as you apply the spacer dots as placeholders to remember where you want to apply each stripe.
